Return to form
Originally released to wide-spread acclaim in 2016, SUPERHOT VR is a revamped version of the game designed to take full use of virtual reality. The game revolves around stopping time with your own movements, taking weapons from frozen enemies in a highly stylised angular world. With new control systems for gun play using VR remotes and head based movement tracking, SUPERHOT VR becomes an addictively immersive experience. Running around and grabbing swords from stunned enemies feels responsive and realistic, resulting in one the rare instances of VR being used to enhance every aspect of a game. While the actual content has not been updated, players of the original version will find a whole lot more to love about SUPERHOT in VR.
SUPERHOT VR is a fantastic example of how VR can be used effectively in game design and should be essential for all owners of the technology. Despite a lack of new story missions, the general polish makes up for it.
